ROMANS 1
COMMENTARY
Rom 1:1 apostle — one of the five-fold ministries (Eph 4:11-12), whose calling it is to plant and oversee churches.
Rom 1:7 in — all blessings come from the Father, in Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit.
1 Paul, a disciple of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, 2 (which He had promised beforehand by His prophets in the Holy Scriptures,) 3 regarding His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who in His humanity was born of the seed of David; 4 and was declared the Son of God with power, through the Holy Spirit, by the resurrection from the dead. 5 In Him we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith of all people, for His name. 6 You are likewise the saints of Jesus Christ. 7 To all in Rome, beloved of God, called to be His saints: Grace and peace to you from God our Father, in the Lord Jesus Christ.
